Ephesians 3.13-21

14 "When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen."

How incredible is it that the love of Christ is SO great, that there's no way ANY of us can fully comprehend it?!?!? That's SO awesome!!! From this same love, we get strength. I don't know about You, but I really hope that I make it a point in each of my days that I live to deepen my roots in God's love so that I draw upon the strength that God provides through His Spirit. I desperately need that these days with the craziness of life and the utter chaos that I experience from time to time. What about you?

"Father, I want to mimic Paul's prayer here and pray that we would all trust Christ more and with more of our lives! I pray that our roots would dig down deep into Your love and that You would keep each of us strong in Your love. God fill us with Your Spirit and lead us in every aspect of our lives! In Jesus' name I pray, amen!"

  1. Paul is talking about trees here. When trees' roots run deepthey are strong. Strong enough to withstand any storm. This is how he need to be with God. Our roots need to be deep in him. With deep roots we'll be ok no matter how strong the winds get or how bad a storm there is

  2. Yes sir! It kind brings the song "How He Loves" to mind, especially the verse that says, "[He] loves like a hurricane, I am a tree, bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy..." doesn't it? =) I love it!

  3. This was actually a really good one to read after the last 1.5 weeks. It's been a constant struggle between work, the house, and continuing to plan ahead for the wedding. I have found that and am continued to be reassured in knowing that by keeping my faith and trying to live by the gospel that blessings and praises can and will happen. Matthew 19:26
